Girls Weekend

Lets be honest, every woman needs a good girls weekend occasionally, and this weekend was definitely that for me. My friend Morgan came and visited from Nashville and I got to show her a small piece of my beautiful city.
A lot of people ask how Morgan and I became friends since we have no geographical connections. Well the answer is we met on Instagram, she slid in my DM's (hey girl heyyy) about my workout routine and we just started talking about fitness, and then eventually we became really good friends. If you know me at all you know that I'm the first girl to comment on other girls pictures or whatever it may be to spread some positivity, no shame, women should always empower other women. People should empower other people in general actually. Thats beside the point though, back to this weekend.
So Morgan got to Lou around 1 AM Friday night and we stayed up till about 3ish just catching up and setting up the guest room for her. Mind you this was the first time Morgan and I had ever actually met in person, but we'd been friends for about a year. Meeting someone you know from social media for the first time in real life would be a little weird right? Wrong. It felt like Morgan and I had known each other for 10 years and there wasn't even the slightest bit of awkwardness. That's mainly because she's a very outgoing, hilarious person, so she's very easy to be around. Saturday morning Morgan and I woke up and decided to get our tan on and lay by the pool. I had made a dinner reservation for us at 10:30 for one of my favorite restaurants downtown so we left the pool around 4 to go home and shower and take a nap. If we're being honest, nap time turned into wine time, as it usually does on girls weekends. So by the time we started getting ready, music was blaring (mainly Bodak Yellow), and we were dancing in the kitchen. Around 9:30, the restaurant sent me text saying our table was ready early so we called an uber and headed out. One of my favorite places to take people for dinner in the city is 8up. It's a rooftop restaurant/ bar that overlooks downtown Louisville and it's perfect for grabbing drinks on the patio in the summer. So some dinner, dessert, and quite a few more glasses of wine later we ended up on the patio till closing time. Oops. Either way, Saturday was an absolute blast.
Sunday morning involved a couple headaches, a few ibuprofen, and Wild Eggs for brunch. Truth me told, a bomb breakfast is really the only way to cure a hangover. Well, that and a good bloody mary. Sunday was a rainy day, so our last girls day got cancelled seeing as Morgan had to be home by mid afternoon and there wasn't much to do on a rainy day. Overall, I would definitely call this girls weekend a major success. We walked out of this weekend tan, relaxed, a little hungover, and overall thankful to have such good friends to spend the weekend with.
